ღGreat Grandfatherღ

Thank You for visiting our dear Grandfather Henry. Your thoughtful visit is very appreciated.

༺⊰❁ Henry Simpson was the son of Martin and Irene Simpson. He married Angeline Rust Simpson and they had two daughters:
Cora Simpson who married George Bussmann, and Elva Simpson who married Percy Lester Sterling.
G-Grandpa Henry was a member of the Norwood Christian Church for many years and prior to that church he attended the Richmond Street Church.
In the early 1930's G-Grandpa Henry and G-Grandma Annie Lived with their daughter, my Grandma, Elva, and G-Grandpa Henry served as the constable of Amelia. This was told to me by an uncle recently. During his time as constable there was a robbery at one of the stores in which a fight insued with my G-Grandpa Henry and the thief, who did not want to be arrested. During this great fight of wills my G-Grandpa Henry bit off part of the ear of the criminal, finally subduing and arresting him. It was well known around town that he was a fair man, but when you crossed the line with him he was a formidable force.
G-Grandpa Henry was buried in the Amelia Odd Fellows Cemetery between Percy Sterling, son-in-law, and Elva Simpson Sterling, daughter. There is no headstone, only a corner stone with an "S" carved into it. He is buried to the right side of the round mausoleum, which is now used as a tool shed.

May our dear Grandpa Henry rest in the heavenly peace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⊱ಌ⊰To My Grandfather⊱ಌ⊰

Once in the days of long ago
God cast a soul on earth
To work, to strive, to build, to love,
Through joy, sorrow, mirth.

He lived, He loved, He flourished;
His battles bravely won,
To rest at last in Glory
When the Father said,"Well done."

And now he's gone to join Him,
Who watches from above,
To life's most blest fulfillment,
To the Heaven of Brotherly love.
