Andrew J. "Dutch" Simpson was the son of Martin H. and Irene Van
Dorn
Simpson, born February 24, 1866 in Blanchester, Clinton County, Ohio. He
was fondly known by all as Dutch. He never married.
Dutch lived most of his life in Branch Hill, Clermont County, Ohio. He was very active in
his community, always lending a helping hand to those in need, and was known to back
anything that stood for the betterment of the community he lived in.
Dutch was very well known and highly respected by those in his community and surrounding
areas. He was a man who had many friends, young and old, and held numerous positions of
trust, as he was well thought of by the people. He was a stand by in his political party
and held a position as Judge in almost all elections.
He lived for a number of years in the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Hubbard who also lived there in Branch Hill. He took ill and died very soon afterwards,
leaving his family and a community to mourn his passing to the Great Beyond. He was one
of the few then remaining number of men and women who stayed in Branch Hill from it's
infancy.

These are the words in a card of thanks written by his siblings:
"In our sad bereavement we wish to extend our sincere thanks to our relatives,
friends and neighbors for their kindness and sympathy shown us of the loss of our brother
who so suddenly passed away, Andrew Simpson.
Also, the choir for their singing, Lella and Mary Lou Stratzman for their beautiful
singing. Rev. Hershey for his consoling words, and beautiful tribute that he paid him
[Dutch], also the beautiful floral offering, Dr. Blackerby for his service, Mr. Johnson
the way he conducted the funeral."

Dutch had passed away in Branch Hill, Clermont County, Ohio on April 22, 1926 at 2:05
o'clock a.m. At the age of 60 years, 1 month and 29 days. He left behind many who loved
him deeply and mourned his passing. He was greatly missed by family and friends alike.
May our beloved Andrew J. "Dutch" Simpson rest in peace within the loving
presence of our Lord Jesus Christ.
