Mrs. Shalek was affiliated with all the local charitable and benevolent organizations. A host of friends grieve the passing as one who was so admired for her willingness to help the poor and those in distress at all times.
She is survived by three sons, Julius of Chelsea, Louis of Somerville and Israel of Everett; Three daughters, Mrs. Rose Grossman of Quincy, Mrs. Anne Wolpe of Everett and Mrs. Sarah Krentzman of Chelsea.
Funeral services were held at Everett. Burial was at Congregation Agudath Achim Cemetery, Montvale. Rabbi Philip I. Israelite of Chelsea officiated at the services.
