Mr. Mefford was a native of Brawley. He lived in Merced many years. He was a barber at Castle Air Force Base for several years. He served in the Navy from 1947 to 1952; he belonged to Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
A graveside service will be conducted at 9 a.m. Monday at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella. Whitehurst Funeral Chapel, Los Banos, in charge of arrangements.
