Betty Louise Searle, 82, of Kokomo, was placed in the hands of the Lord at 9:07 PM, October 5, 2012 from St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital, Indianapolis. Born October 10, 1929 in Tipton County, she is the daughter of the late Grancy "Jack" M. Lee and Alice L. (Jarrett) Lee. She was a graduate of Jefferson Township High School. On April 15, 1951 in Normanda Christian Church, Tipton Co., IN, she married Winfield F. Searle. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1983. She was a homemaker and also worked in the kitchen at Sycamore Middle School. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter Linda D. Searle-Dowd and husband Steve of Kokomo; grandchildren Tamera M. Clark and Kerry Tyler of Arrington, TN, Chad M. Phillips of Kokomo, Kevin L. (wife-Bryanne) Phillips of Indianapolis, Brianna E. Dowd-Salinas and husband Mark of Frankfort; two great grandchildren Marcos A. Salinas and Alexis M. Salinas; also her very special friend Cleon Waggoner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one daughter Terri L. Searle-Berry.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 12, 2012 in Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 South Main Street, Kokomo. Pastor Nancy Blevins will officiate. Burial will follow in Crown Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Thursday at the mortuary. To all who sent cards or said a prayer for Betty, the family greatly appreciates your kindness.
