GRESHAM [Multnomah Co.]—Longtime Gresham resident, Betty Jean Olsen, 78, died on Tuesday, June 4, in Boring. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 7, at the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints, 540 S.E. Hogan Road in Gresham. Bateman Carroll Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
She was born in Ogden, Utah, to William and Eliza Halford. She was raised and educated in Ogden where she married Sam Olsen on January 1, 1943. She moved to Gresham in the early 1970's and worked for Standard Insurance Company for 17 years retiring in 1985. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints.
Survivors include her husband, sons, Hal of Tualatin and Gregen of Auburn, Washington, daughters, Karleen Day and Marcia Woods of Boring, 11 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
