Frank H. Hedrick, 65 years old, agent for the Globe in Chitwood, died suddenly in his home, 2314 West Third street, at 12:15 o'clock Sunday morning. Death was due to apoplexy.
Mr. Hedrick became ill about 11 o'clock Saturday night and a physician was called. The physician had been gone only fifteen minutes when Mr. Hedrick died.
Mr. Hedrick was accustomed to arising about 3 o'clock each morning to deliver the Globe to subscribers in Chitwood. Rather than have the Chitwood patrons fail to receive their papers Sunday morning, Mr. Hedrick's sons, Philip and Harold, 14 and 12 years old, respectively, came to the Globe office at the customary hour and obtained the papers and delivered them over the entire route.
With the death of the father, the boys are the sole support of their widowed mother.
Mr. Hedrick was born in South Charleston, Ohio, and came to Joplin several years ago. He was a member of the Masonic order in Webb City.
Besides the immediate family, he is survived by six sisters and several other relatives, none of whom live here.
Funeral services are to be held at 3 o'clock this afternoon in the chapel of the Hurlbut Undertaking Company and burial will be in Webb City cemetery. The Rev. Francis T. Geyer, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church, will deliver the funeral sermon.
