BURWELL - Eleanor Irene Johnson, 88, of Burwell died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at her home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Burwell Baptist Church in Burwell. Pastors Rob Pearson and Stan Gurney will officiate. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery in Burwell.
Eleanor was born Aug. 21, 1924, in Kola, Nebraska to Louis and Lillian (Nelson) Barthel.
Eleanor married Glenn Marvin Johnson on June 10, 1946, at her parents' home in Holt County near Amelia. He died March 21, 2011.
Survivors of the immediate family include four children, June McLachlan of Lincoln, Mervin and Dawnetta Johnson of Burwell, Lawrence and Cindy Johnson of Burwell, and Kathy and Tim Foster of Barstow, Calif,; two sisters, Lois and Virgil Swett of Ericson and Joan Barthel of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Barthel of Amelia.
