Mr. Joseph F. Stoat, an employee of the Union Pacific since his arrival in Grand Island fifteen years ago, died at his home, 820 East Fifth street, at 6:35 o'clock, Tuesday morning, following an illness of three months. He was born in Davis county, Mo., June 10, 1868, being 64 years of age on his last birthday. Surviving him are a son, Otis, at Cheyenne; a daughter, Fern, residing at Denver; a brother, C. W. Stout, of this city, and two sisters, Mrs. Etta Cox, of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Eva Taylor, of Ponca City, Okla., besides a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock, Thursday afternoon, at the Geddes funeral home. Rev. C. B. Harman, of St. Paul's English Lutheran church, will officiate and burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery.
