GILBERT I. CHRISTIAN born Sequatchie Valley, Tenn., Jan. 29, 1819; moved with parents to Haywood Co., Tenn. in 1826 and settled near old Providence Church; moved into Jackson in 1844 and became a mercantile partner with Robert Anderson, his brother-in-law; died October 28, 1886. [He is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Jackson, Tennessee.]

He was married to Emily Goodwin.
