Clarissa Amelia Cleveland Griswold was born to Josiah Douglas Cleveland and Lucy Bryan Cleveland. She married Alanson Buckingham Bartholomew Griswold in 1856. They had 3 daughters, Mary Frances, Sarah Selma, (died at 19 months of age), and Harriet Martha. The family lived in New York, Michigan, and Kansas before moving by wagon to Ibapah, UT in 1891, and on to Oregon in 1901. Mr. Griswold died in 1914 in Burns, OR. Clarissa then went to live with two of her grandsons, Ralph W. Hibbard and family, and Duane C. Hibbard near Caldwell, ID until her death in 1924 feom pneumonia.
