Oldest child of Jonathan and Demarius Jones Low, Dolf never married. He was the first of his Low brothers to go to the Mississippi Delta to become a planter. He must have spoken highly of the soil, the growing conditions, and of the quality of the cotton in that part of the world, because he talked Dave D. and James Rascoe Low into moving permanently to the area, starting in the late 1890s, when the men were still very young.
