Ada Belle McDaniel
Funeral services for Ada Belle McDaniel, 88, were Jan. 15, 1997, at the Bader Funeral Home in Lusk with the Rev. Frank Bozart officiating. Burial followed at the Lusk Cemetery. Memorials are to the charity of the donor's choice.
She died Jan. 12, 1997 at the Niobrara County Hospital in Lusk. She was born March 12, 1908 in Edgemont, S.D. to Oscar and Nellie Rose (Lockett) Jones.
Northern Niobrara County is where she was raised and spent most of her life, living on the home place near Lance Creek. She married Paul McDaniel Aug. 11, 1925.
They rode horseback to get married. They ranched and raised livestock. They also helped raise Ruben Boatright when his parents died at an early age.
They also worked and enjoyed the summers in Jackson Hole, as caretakers at the AMT Ranch for several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and sons Bill, Dennis, Pat and Tom.
Survivors include brother Ted Jones of Lusk, sister Betty Sable of Lander, son Jack McDaniel of Miles City, Mont., nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
