The mission of the 389th Bomb Group was a re-supply mission for the troops crossing the Rhine. Planes flew at very low level, sometimes as low as 100ft. Group attacks Luftwaffe at Stormede Airfield.

Sgt. Aplington, Sgt.Graham and Sgt.Hopkin's body were never recovered.
