ANOTHER PIONEER IS LAID IN GRAVE
West Stayton, May 12. - J.T. Dickens, 70, Oregon pioneer, who died at West Stayton recently, was born in the Waldo Hills, August 31, 1856. His death came after only three hours of illness with heart disease.
In May, 1881, he married Sarah Royce and to this union five children were born, all of whom survive. They are Mrs. Luvena Hamilton, N. Santiam; Mrs. Elsie Shontell, W. Stayton; Mrs. Rose Mensinger, Mrs. Myrtle Veach of Portland, and Wellorn O. Dickens of West Stayton. Twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was laid to rest in the Stayton cemetery. #
