Obituary - RENATE DITTBRENNER

Death released Renate Dittbrenner nee Harms, from all pain and suffering on Tuesday of this week the 4th day of March. She attained the age of 68 years, 1 month and 8 days.

Mrs. Dittbrenner did not enjoy good health the past two years, however, not until in July last summer did her physical well-being begin to decline visibly. After being hospitalized she returned to her home shortly before her passing. Her near and dear one cared for her tenderly during her prolonged illness.

The departed was born near Auburn, at Hickory Grove, on January 27, 1884, the daughter of Dietrich Harms and his wife Doris, nee Hude.

In infancy her parents, in compliance with revelation of the Holy Scriptures, presented her to the Lord in baptism on March 2, 1884. Through this Sacramental act Christ became her Savior to whom she could turn with fullest confidence all the days of her life and in the hour of her death.

At a youthful age she became a communicant member of the Lutheran church by confirmation. The sainted pastor Theo. Streng performed the sacred rite on April 17, 1898, at Hickory Grove.

She was united in marriage to John R. Dittbrenner at Auburn, Nebr., on January 29, 1905. This union was blessed with eight children. The interest and love the departed expended in her home will long be missed and remembered by the members of the family.

The departed and her husband lived near Auburn approximately four years after their marriage. From Auburn they moved to Byron where they lived for 15 years, from Byron they moved to the Chester area where they made their home for seven years, and from that location they moved north of Hebron, where they have made their home since 1931.

Immediate relatives who mourn her passing are: her devoted husband, John R. Dittbrenner; her eight children, Rosa Pohlmann, Denver, Colo., August Dittbrenner, Chester, Nebr.; Alma Daniel, Denver, Colo.; Augusta Brouwer, Fairchild, Washington; Erna Sweetser, San Diego, Calif.; Doretta Dittbrenner, Dora Dittbrenner, and Johannes Dittbrenner, the last three named at the home; her two brothers Dietrich Harms and Ernest Harms, one sister, Bertha Scheele; eight sisters and brothers preceded her in death. Also 6 grandchildren and numerous more distant relatives and friends.

Funeral services were at the Grace Lutheran Church. Rev. C.E. Schaff, officiating. Services were also held at the home preceeding (sic) the church services. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
