Mrs. Mary Polnicky Dies in Cheyenne

Mrs. Mary Polnicky, long-time resident of this city, died Tuesday morning, March 20th, at the home of her son, Paul and wife, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she had been for the past two months. She was 79 years old.

Mary Strobl was born in Bohemia and came with her parents to this country as a child. She married John Polnicky. To this union two children were born, Emma, who died at the age of 14 and Paul. Mr. Polnicky died in 1915. Mrs. Polnicky had made her home in Red Cloud, ever since she came over from the old country as a child.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her only son, Paul, of Cheyenne, Wyoming; one daughter, Helen, of Cheyenne; two brothers, Frank and Joseph Strobl of Red Cloud; many other relatives and a host of friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Polnicky will be here this evening and the body will be here on No. 16 tomorrow morning.

There will be saying of the rosary at the Turner Funeral Home at 8 o'clock Thursday evening. The funeral services will be conducted by Father Joseph M. Murphy Friday morning at 10:00 o'clock from the Sacred Heart church.

Last Rites Held Friday for Mrs. Mary Polnicky

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Polnicky were held Friday morning from Sacred Heart church, by Father Joseph M. Murphy. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery here. Pallbearers were E. V. Steiner, John D. Kelliher, J. M. Delaney, Harvey Rickerson, Gilbert Beck and Geo. Ecklor.

Mrs. Polnicky was one of those persons rightly termed "the salt of the earth." She was a devout church member, a true friend, wife and mother. She was an unusually good cook and was most generous with the good things she made.

Born in Bohemia, Mary Strobl, came with her parents to this country as a child. She had made her home in Red Cloud ever since.

She was married to John Polnicky and to this union two children were born, Emma, who died when 14 and Paul, of Cheyenne, Wyoming. She is also survived by one granddaugther, Helen Polnicky, two brothers, Frank and Joseph Strobl of Red Cloud; other relatives and many friends.
