Elder Richard Summerfield Allison married Lavina Lemasters on the 26th of November 1816. Of their marriage came Daniel who married Mary Pilcher abt 1845 and who by 1860 was the Registrar of Deeds in Viroqua, Vernon County, Wisconsin; Frances E. married James Buckhanon on the 21st of October 1877; Sarah married a Mr. Blue; John; Elder Joseph Perry Allison b. 4 Mar 1831 married Mary Long; Samuel Veale 1833-1907 married Dorcas Hill; and children Benjamin F., Ruth A., and Lovina Allison b. 1844 who married her step-brother Arthur Butler Haskell on the 28th of March, 1864, in Monroe County, Wisconsin. All the Allison children were born in Illinois.

By 1850 most of the family was living in Grant County, Wisconsin:
