Died Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Life Care Center, Elkhorn, Nebraska. Norman was born at the family farm north of Delmont, SD on March 15, 1931 to Michael and Martha (Albrecht) Fink. He was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church north of Delmont and confirmed at Hope Lutheran Church in Delmont in 1945. He graduated from Delmont High School in 1949 and Southern State Teacher's College in Springfield, SD in 1953. He taught high school math at Ree Heights and Fairfax, SD before moving to Farmington, New Mexico . He continued his education during the next few years, earning a Master's Degree. Norman taught school several more years, then took various jobs using his math and accounting skills until he suffered a stroke in 2002. Since that time he has resided at Life Care Center of Elkhorn. Norman married Betty Beck on July 9, 1960. They were blessed with two children, Calvin in 1961 and Michelle in 1966. After their divorce, Norman moved to Las Cruces, NM and later married Leola Guthrie in 1983. Survivors include his son Calvin Fink, Colorado Springs, CO; three sisters, Delores Catherman and her husband Ed, Golden, CO, Elvira Van Roy and her husband, Dan, Omaha, NE, and Viola Bitterman, Iowa City, IA; four brothers, Elmer Fink, Plano, TX, Edwin Fink, Bismarck, ND, Dale Fink and his wife Loralee, Sgt. Bluff, IA, and David Fink and his wife Sandra, Tillson, NY, plus many nieces, nephews and cousins. Norman was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Michelle in 1973; wife Leola in 1986; and a brother Allan in infancy.
FUNERAL SERVICE Friday, October 5, 2012 at 10:30am at Koehn Bros. Funeral Chapel in Delmont with burial following in Hope Lutheran Cemetery near Delmont. VISITATION will be Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 7-8:30pm at Koehn Bros. Funeral Chapel in Delmont.
