Robert Dixon was born May 27th, 1839 at Trafalgar, Canada and died at his home in Grant Township, August 11, 1894, aged 55 years, 2 months, and 14 days.

Deceased was married to Miss Isabella McCall October 25, 1859. Eight children blessed this union, four sons and four daughters, who together with his companion survive him.

Mr Dixon moved to Michigan October 31st 1866; he was one of the two first settlers in the community where he lives, and took a prominent part in township work, has seen the forest pass away and five farms appear in their stead. His family has the sympathy of the entire neighborhood, for their affliction is rendered more poignant by his very sudden death. Many times during the spring his condition has been such that it seemed as though he could not live but a few hours. On Saturday morning he was out walking around his door yard, feeling quite cheerful, when he suddently fell to the ground and expired before all the family could be summoned. So ends a life of toil.
