Dublin, GA- Services for Bessie Mae Gust, age 83, of Dexter will be held at 10:30AM on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Dexter Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Calvin Halcomb will officiate. She passed away on September 29, 2012 at Serenity Place in Dublin, Georgia.
Mrs. Gust was a member of Dexter Baptist Church. She retired from Southeastern Bank after 43 years of service. She served on the Board of Directors at Camden County State Bank and was a member of the Georgia Bankers Association.
Mrs. Gust was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Della Mae Smith; husband, Costas James Gust, Sr.; sisters, Myrtle Knight and Gladys Alligood and brother, Alvin Smith, Sr.
Survivors include a daughter,. . .of Noblesville, IN; son, . . .of Dexter, GA; three grandsons, . . . granddaughter,. . .sister, . . .of Dexter, GA; brother, . . .of Dexter, GA; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Smith, Alvin Smith, Jr., Dennis Smith, Donnie Alligood, Billy Alligood, Lawton Smith and Wayne Holleman.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Serenity Place, 520 Hillcrest Parkway, Dublin, GA 31021.
