Adolph Sukup, son of John and Julia (Kurka) Sukup, was born January 10, 1918 at Walnut, Ne. Adolph died Thursday, July 10, 2008, at Avera Sacred Hearth Hospital in Yankton, S.D.

Adolph attended District #26 rural school through the 8th grade. Adolph married Helen Vesely on April 6, 1942 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Verdigre. To this union 2 children were born, Melvin and Larry. Adolph and Helen farmed northwest of Verdigre all their married lives until retiring and moving to town in 1980.

Adolph was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and a Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th Degree member. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He also enjoyed watching sports, especially basketball.

Survivors are: wife Helen Sukep of Verdigre, NE.; sons and their wives, Melvin and Marsha Sukup of Harvard, NE. and Larry and Diana Sukup of Verdigre, NE.; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

Adolph was preceded in death by: parents; brothers, John and Walter Sukup; and sisters, Julia Riibe, Rose Carrol, and Delores Meyer.

Burial was in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church Cemetery, Verdigre, NE.
