(Monterey) Funeral Services for Dwain Jernigan, age 65, will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2012, at 2:00 pm from the chapel of the Monterey Church of the Nazarene, with interment in the Phillips Cemetery in the Anderson Community. The family will receive friends at the Chapel of Cookeville Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Thursday, October 3, 2012, from 12:00 pm until time of the services. Mr. Jernigan went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 1, 2012, after an extended illness, with his loving family by his side. Dwain was born on January 31, 1947, in Putnam County, TN to the late Glenn and Martha Maxwell Jernigan. Mr. Jernigan was a tool maker by trade and loved football and camping in the outdoors. He was a long time member of the Monterey Church of the Nazarene. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Lionel Jernigan. He is survived by his wife Kay Jernigan, of Monterey, one son Jeff Jernigan and wife Lisa of Cookeville, God daughter, Elizabeth Carrol Freeman of Lovejoy and one brother; Rick Jernigan of Oklahoma, and many nieces and nephews. Three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren Pall Bearers will be family and friends Bro. Micah Strum will officiate at the services. Cookeville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
