Rebecca was the daughter of Daniel H. Hufford and Nancy Anna Welty. She married David Friesner on 27 Oct 1859 in Fairfield,​ Ohio. They were the parents of Minerva (Mrs Walter), Charles, Nancy, Marcellus Anderson, and Harvey. Rebecca married Samuel Strong on 31 JAN 1888 in Humboldt County, Iowa. He died 27 MAY 1912 in Humboldt.

May 20, 1926 - Humboldt Independent - Rebecca Hufford was born October 16, 1839, in Perry county, Ohio. She was married to David J. Friesner October 26, 1859. They moved to Marshall county in 1868 and to Humboldt county in 1880.

To this union were born six children, four or whom preceded their mother in death. A son, H.C. Friesiner, of Mason Cily, and a daughter, Mrs. Frank Walter, of Hartley, survive her.

The husband and father, David J Friesner, passed away in 1883. On January 31, 1888, Rebecca Hufford Friesner was married to Samuel Stong who also preceded her in death, having passed away March 27, 1912. She then went to live with her daughter, Mrs. Frank Walter, of Hartley, Iowa, in l913, where she continued to reside until her death, May 16, 1926.

She had been a member of the Methodist church for many years and a church worker, but in her later years she could not get out much on account of her infirmity. Funeral services were conducted at the home of W.W. Thompson in Humboldt Tuesday afternoon, the eighteenth, Rev. C.M. Eymun, pastor of the First Baptist church of Humboldt, officiating, and interment was made in Union cemetery.
