It is with a heavy heart that I write this memorial. Willie Bob was a stray orange tabby who just wanted to be a pet.

After taking him to the vet for shots and treatment of an eye infection, I brought Willie into my home. Since he was a tom, he fought with my other cats. He was okay living on the porch (I supplied him with a nice bed and plenty of foodies). He loved to be held like a baby.

Willie was the second cat my daughter accidentally drove off with in the back of her truck. He jumped out on the two lane about a mile from our home. We went up in the woods shaking the food container but no Willie. This happened on a Sunday and we kept going back all day hoping to find him. I worried about him all day. When I got up and left for work Monday morning, there sat Willie Bob on the porch ~ waiting for his breakfast! This happened last year.

Willie Bob never strayed far and always came up on the porch at night. When I was out working around the farm, Willie Bob always "helped". When I came home in the evenings, he always walked out to greet me. I used to tell him he needed a job at Wal*Mart as a door greeter.

We have been blessed to have Willie Bob for a couple of years. I'm not sure what happened to Willie Bob ~ he up and disappeared.

He knew what it was to be a pet.
