Jacob, the eight year old son of Emory G. Piper was killed instantly on Tuesday afternoon at the crossing west of PRR freight office. The little boy had been downtown on an errand and on returning home a freight was passing eastward on the south track. The unfortunate lad while standing on the north track waiting for the freight to pass was struck by a fast passenger train going west. The boy was hurled about 150 feet to his death.
