1900 census listed as Eaten, 1910 listed as Esten, 1920 listed as Estil, 1930 listed as Estell all in his father's household. Father's obituary listed him as Estill. I believe he used a nickname of Ester, or Esten. In first census he is 3 years old, born 1897 as sister Rachel is born in 1898. Believe the year is off according to census records,Draft card registration as 1897,and that he and sister Rachel are not twins.



VERSAILLES -- Estill Stone Carter, 98, retired farmer, father of Lennis Beatty, died Thursday. Services 1 p.m. Tuesday, New Vine Baptist Church, Fort Springs. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Monday at the church. Morgan Funeral Home in charge.
