Billy Dene Ross Mayo, 85, passed away on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012. Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole. Church. Billy was born Nov. 29, 1926, in Leon, Okla., one of 11 children born to Cyrus Albert and Carrie Adelaide Harris Ross and graduated as valedictorian of her high school class in Leon. She was employed as an insurance casualty writer and worked for DuBose, Rutledge and Miller, Marsh McLennan and finally for John A. Miller and Associates from which she retired. A former member of University Baptist Church, she was currently a member of Agape Baptist Church. The family extends a special thank-you to the Westside Campus of Care physicians and staff for the loving care and support given to Billy during her nine years spent there. Billy was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbourn Robert Mayo, in 1990; nine of her siblings; and her son-in-law, Mark McBeth. Survivors: Children, Mary Hill and husband, Steve, of Grand Prairie, Al Mayo and wife, Katrina, of Red Oak, Bill Mayo of Fort Worth and Nancy McBeth of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Jonathan Hill, Shay Mayo and wife, Brandy, Travis Mayo, Trey Mayo, Anastasia Mayo, Rose Mayo, Amber Mayo, Christina Flux and her husband, Damien, Ross Mayo, Chip Gardiner, Carrie Gardiner; great-grandson, Alex Mayo; and her brother, Rev. James Ross of Garland.
