Mrs. Frances Gray died at the home of her mother, Mrs. Sallie Schenck, Friday morning, April 1, of congestion of the brain, after an illness of only a few days. She was the oldest child of Norman Schenck and was born in 1857 on the street, where she has always lived. About 13 years ago she was married to Frank Gray, to whom she has been a devoted wife and help-mate. The husband, little daughter, mother, brother and sister have the sympathy of the community in this great affliction which has so suddenly befallen them. The funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. Schenck on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. C. G. Lowell officiating. (Perry Herald-News, Thursday, April 7, 1892)
