Anthony/Anton Huber was born at Weildorf, Oberamt Haigerloch, Fuerstentum Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, later Kreis Hechingen [today: Haigerloch-Weildorf, Zollernalbkreis, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany].

Together with his parents, siblings and future wife, he emigrated to America from Le Havre, France in 1842 on board the ship "Argo" and arrived in New York on May 25, 1842.
