BRADY - Lexia Jane Brock, 88, of Brady, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, in San Angelo.
She was born Aug. 8, 1919, in Milam County near Cameron, Texas, to James Ross Shuffield and Bell Elizabeth Griffin Shuffield.

She married Oscar Elmore Brock on July 15, 1950 in Brady.
.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and embroidery. She was fortunate to have traveled to Germany when her husband was in the Air Force and was especially proud of the Hummels and paintings she brought back with her.
.
During World War II, she worked at Curtis Field in Brady and also at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo. Lexia was a switchboard operator for the Texas School for the Deaf, where she retired. She was a Baptist. Lexia has been a resident of Brady since 1979, moving there from Austin, where she had lived for 20 years. She recently had moved to San Angelo to live at Royal Estates near her family.

Service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Leaterwood Memorial Chapels in Brady with the Rev. Ray Ash officiating. Interment will be in Live Oak Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Tate, Winston Boeker, Curt Counts, Harold Stephens and Jimmie Osborne.
Survivors include her daughter, Celita Killingsworth and husband Tom of San Angelo, Texas; sister Murl Osborne of Brady, Texas; and grandchildren Andrew Killingsworth of San Angelo, Texas, Patrick Killingsworth of San Angelo, Texas, and Lexanne Killingsworth of San Angelo, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five brothers, Oxsheer, Albert, Enoch, Thagard and Buford; and two sisters, Cassie Boeker and Mabel Terry.
