Rae Boyd; also 7 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Funeral Services United Methodist Church of West Chester, Thurs., May 8 at 10AM. Friends may call 9 to 10AM at the church and Wednesday evening at the BOYD FUNERAL HOME, West Chester, PA from 6 to 8 PM. Int. Birmingham-Lafayette Cemetery, West Chester. Lydia Mae Purring Boyd, 89, of West Chester, PA died Monday, May 5, 1997 in the Chester County Hospital in West Chester. She was the widow of Joseph E. Boyd, Sr. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Ernest and Magdalene Yates Purring. She attended School in Philadelphia and was a former resident if Ardmore, Narberth, Norristown and West Chester, where she moved in 1976. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of West Chester. Prior to moving to West Chester she was a long time member of the Haws Avenue United Methodist Church. She was the last of ten children. She is survived by two sons Joseph E Boyd, Jr. of West Chester and G. Rae Boyd of Norristown; seven grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church of West Chester. Friends may call May 7 at the Boyd Funeral Home Inc, in West Chester. Interment will be in the Birmingham-Lafayette Cemetery in West Chester. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wentworth Home in West Chester, PA. - Unsourced.
