Ruby was predeceased by her husband Ernest T. Cress. She leaves behind one son, Donald Lacey and his wife June; five grandchildren, Jim Lacey (April); Michael Lacey (Renee); Susan Martin (Ron); Kathleen Finnegan (Steve); Karen Hope (Bob); 12 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; and very dear friends, Cheryl & Dan Murphy, Dorothy Walters and Becky Queen.

Last year her companion Tootsie, a little Yorkie terrier, passed away and was still very missed.

Ruby lived most of her life in Southern California where she enjoyed the sunshine and open air lifestyle. She worked for many years in the banking world.

She had many different interests. She was a very loyal and knowledgeable fan of pro football and spent many happy hours watching the games. She loved the Rams and the Raiders and even occasionally gave the Dallas Cowboys a little support.

Ruby was an avid reader and her reading material covered many subjects from mysteries, romance, history, biographies and even a few classics. She also loved to work on jigsaw puzzles and when one was complete she kept it together until someone came to appreciate her work. You would think she had painted the picture herself.

She loved Mexican food and hot salsa and enjoyed growing her own chili peppers.

She also made time for knitting and crocheting. Since moving to Texas she has enjoyed knitting squares to help a group who provide blankets for children in Africa.

There will be a private family service to celebrate a life well lived.
