Mrs. Mary Walker Dies In Chattanooga

Mrs. Mary E. Walker, former resident of Courtland, died Sunday night at her hone in Chattanooga, Tenn. The body will arrive in Decatur Tuesday at 2:20 p.m. and be conveyed to the city cemetery where interment services will be held by Rev. John C. Cowell Jr, and Rev. C.L. Cobbs. Interment will follow the services, Brown directing. Pallbearers will be: C.O. Putman, Webb Speake, Jim Pettey, J.C. Howell, Emmett McClary and B.L. Malone.

Born in Lawrence County, Mrs. Walker made her home in Chattanooga for the past thirty-five years.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. A.C. McCurdy, Chattanooga, Tenn. and Mrs. O.L. Mahoney, Decatur; one sister, Mrs. Elbert Coffey, Courtland; one granddaughter, Mrs. Hortense Kirby, Decatur, and one grandson, Kenneth Kirby, Decatur.

Mary E. Crow and Andrew Jackson Walker married in Lawrence County, Alabama on October 7, 1875.
Their children were James Lee Walker, Willie I Walker and Katie Marque Walker.

Mary Emma Crow Walker was the daughter of Hugh Crow and Mary Mauldin, both born in South Carolina. She resided at 2309 Bailey Avenue, Chattanooga, Tennessee at the time of her death. She was 86 years of age.
