VETERAN OF '65 DIES AT LANDERSVILLE -

H.J. Crow, a highly respected citizen and Civil War Veteran died at his home here early Wednesday morning. Although he was considered very ill for the past three weeks, he never took his bed. He arose Wednesday morning, was dressed and helped to his chair, then asked for a drink of water, he fell from his chair dead.

He was 87 years old and is survived by one son, Ed Crow of this place. Four sisters, Mrs. Emma Walker, Chattanooga, Tenn; Mrs. Elbert Coffey, Courtland, Ala; Mrs. Bettie Little, Hatton, Ala; Mrs. Ann Wylie, Courtland, Ala; and one brother, John Crow, Texas also survive.

Hiram Jonathan Crow - He was born Feb. 13, 1844 near Courtland in Lawrence Co., Ala. He entered service as a private in Feb. 1862 near Moulton in Co. G of the 4th Ala. Regiment and continued until paroled at Wheeler, Ala. in May, 1865.
