An Old Citizen Passes Away
Mr. Jefferson Cox, one of the oldest citizens of this city, died at his home on the Boulevard, Friday evening, aged 82 years. He was a member of the Methodist church and a man of the strictest integrity. He leaves three sons, all residents of this city, Messrs. J. Wilmore Cox, Casper Cox and Eugene Cox.
He was a member of Myrtle Lodge, I. O. O. F.
The funeral of Mr. Jefferson Cox took place from the Methodist church Sunday at 3 p.m., conducted by Rev. W. L. Dolly. The interment was made in the family burying ground on the Stephens farm, in Spotsylvania, about 1 mile from the city limits. Myrtle Lodge, I. O. O. F. and W. L. Brannan's Bible Class attended the funeral and handsome floral offerings were made by each.
The pallbearers were Messrs. S. W. Murkle, L. A. Weaver, John J. Heflin, E. F. Portch, S. B. Brown and B. C. Wenger.
