Mary graduated from Anderson High School in 1935 and enrolled in Anderson Business College. Upon graduating she applied and was accepted at Delco Remy. Mary worked in a department testing horns until one day something became crossed up and she received a mild electrical shock. Mary asked for a transfer out of that department, advising personnel that she had applied for a secretarial position and had the necessary training. She was then classified as a steno-secretary and had assignments in many departments of the factory. When Judith Kaye was born, Mary took a leave from her job and stayed home. When Cynthia Jo was born four years later, Mary was able to provide for both children at home. After both children started to school she worked part-time for an insurance investigation company and in 1959 started work with the Citizens Banking Company. In 1980 Mary retired from the bank. Mary required nursing home care where she spent her remaining days. She is survived by her husband, Doyle T. Wright, daughters Judi and Cindy. She was preceded in death by her parents Roy E. & Stella F. Kilgore (graves located in adjacent row) and an infant daughter; her parents-in-law Homer M. & Loretta O. (Thompson) Wright (also buried in this cemetery).
