Mary Salome Todd was born of German Ancestry in Braken Co.Kentucky,in 1903.At her death in 1982 she was survived by her husband,Samuel Thomas Todd,their five children:Helen Loiuse,Thomas Edward,Dorthy Edith,Robert Joseph,and George Emery.Salome as she was known,was one of 10 children.My mother was a remarkable woman her entire life.As the mother of a very poor family,she kept house,cooked,worked in the tobacco fields with dad and children,made many of children's clothes,helped the children with school work and engaged in many other activities.My mother was Rome Catholic,and the church was always a very important part of her life.
