World War I Victoria Cross Recipient. Born in Clifton, Bristol, he served as a Captain in the 37th Royal Field Artillery, British Army. On August 26, 1914, in actions at Le Cateau, France, Captain Reynolds took two teams with volunteer drivers, to recapture two British guns under heavy German artillery and infantry fire. Although the enemy was within 100 yards he managed, with the help of two drivers to get one gun away safely. On September 9, at Pysloup, France, he discovered a battery which was holding up the advance and silenced it. For gallantry in the face of the enemy, he was awarded the Victoria Cross and promoted Major. He was later wounded in action and died in the Duchess of Westminster's Hospital Le Touquet, France.
