Loren P. Huber was born in Marcellus Township, November 10, 1857, the eighth in order of a family of eleven children fo the late George and Fanny Huber. Loren resided in the neighborhood of his birth until early manhood when he cut loose from the environments of his youth to seek a fortune in other localities and at various times resided in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin and for the last thirty-five or more years has resided in Marcellus where he engaged in business almost constantly until failing health compelled him to retire. He was twice married. First to Medora Dyer, with whom two children were born, an Infant son and daughter Nellie, both of whom preceded him to the life beyond. At his second marriage, on September 24, 1887 he was united in marriage to Miss Julia Frances Cline who early home was in Otsego, Mich. To them were born seven children; five girls, Frances, Hazel, Beatrice, Lulu and Mildred; and two boys, Dewey and Floyd all of whom along with their mother survive. Besides his own individual family there still remains; A J Huber, K R Huber, Mrs. Maggie Bliss of Marcellus and W R Huber of Kalamazoo. Loren Huber was a kind and devoted husband and affectionate and considerate father and the evidence of the appreciation of these virtues by is family was forcefully shown by the reciprocation of his wife in the faithful manner in which she performed her duties as a loyal companion through the period of her married life and her unfaltering and gentle care during the time of his declining health, and by his children by their reverence and kind attitude toward him at all times. He has been a prominent member of the local order I. O. O. F. for many years. His death occurred very suddenly Friday evening, December 15, 1927.
