Maureen E. Benz, age 80, of Norwood Young America, passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
She was born May 2, 1932, to Ralph and Rhea Tice.
Maureen was a graduate of Onamia High School.
She married Donald E. Benz April 25, 1953.
Maureen and her smile will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mark; her parents; a brother, Merlin Tice; and an infant sister, Bonita Tice.
Maureen is survived by her loving husband, Don; a son, Brad; daughters Mary (Mark) Stockman, and Sue (Tom) Fritz; daughter-in-law Teresa; grandchildren Miranda Benz, Jake, Joey and Leah Benz, Ross and Chad Stockman, Jayme, and Josh (Jo) and Katelyn Fritz; a great-grandson, Carter Fritz; a sister, Beverly VanderEyk; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
A memorial Mass took place Saturday, Sept. 22 at 11 a.m. at Church of the Ascension in Norwood Young America, with visitation at 9:30 a.m. Interment followed at the Church of the Ascension Cemetery.
