I was researching the descendents of James Knox and his wife Ann Gregg who lived their lives for the most part in Owen County, Indiana.
Their daughter Mary E Knox married a Barnard/Barnett G. Vaughn in 1896 in Owen County, Indiana. Barnard/Barnett was b. abt 1860 in Ohio.
Barnard's parents were Abraham Vaughn (b bet 1810-1815) and Lucinda Vaughn nee Thompson (b. abt 1826 Ohio). A sister of Bernard was Jemima Vaughn (b. abt 1857 Ohio) who married a Thomas V. Jarvis (b abt 1858 Ohio d. abt 1879) in Owen County in 1878. Another sister was Mary Vaughn (b. abt 1848 Ohio). Bernard's wife was Mary E Vaughn nee Knox (b abt 1864 Indiana)
I believe that Abraham Vaughn, Lucinda Vaughn nee Thompson, and Jemima Jarvis nee Vaughn and Mary Vaughn are all in the New Union Cemetery and are all related. I can't say if Mary Ette Vaughn is Mary, daughter of Abraham and Lucinda , or if she is possibly their daughter-in-law, Mary E Vaughn nee Knox. I'm not sure but I also believe that the Mrs. Abraham Vaughn may be a second wife with Lucinda having passed away.
There aren't many records on this group past about 1870-1880 (at least not online). I don't know if this is at all helpful or not but thought I would pass it on.
