Thomas A. Grubaugh was born in 1869 in Terre Haute, IN to William Grubaugh and Elizabeth Scott. He was the 7th of 9 children born to this couple. He spent most of his life in Crawford County, IL. He was married twice. He married Anna Belle Haskin on 14 Nov 1894 in Robinson, IL. They had two children, Bonnie J. Grubaugh (b.1907) and Irene Grubaugh Holt (1901-1983). Anna died in 1903 and Thomas married Martha Ann Clark on 18 Feb 1905 in Robinson, IL. Thomas and Martha had one child, Mary Pauline Grubaugh Haynes (1906-1936). Martha died in 1938 and Thomas never remarried. He died in 1947.

Thomas Grubaugh, 77, died at his home, 111 1/2 West Walnut street Monday night.
Mr. Grubaugh was well known in Robinson, having been employed as a clerk in the Brubaker & Son frim for the past forty years.
He is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Grubaugh, at home, and Mrs. E. D. Holt of Chicago. A granddaughter, Mary Ann Haynes of Robinson also survives.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Baptist Chruch with the Rev. T. J. Wheeler in charge. Burial will be in the new cemetery.
Friends may call at the Root Funeral Home. The casket will not be opened at the service.
