Sarah Lamb was Born on Sabath Morning at 8 a Clock September 13th 1789 ("Proceedings of the NJ Hist Soc", Vol. 66, No. 1, Jan. 1948, Whole No. 252, Pg 42; Bible of Benjamin Scudder) Benjamin Scudder was Sarah's maternal grandfather.

Sarah Lamb married William Davis 25 Apr. 1805, Warren Co., OH Pg 7, No. 54 (Index to 1803-1834 Marriage & License Books, Warren Co., OH, Probate Court, Brides)

Sarah (Lamb) born 13th Sept. 1789, married William Davis, in Ohio, son of Jonathan. They, soon after their marriage, both joined the Shaking Quakers; had no children; Davis died, and she is still with them in 1851. ("Family Records or Genealogies of the First Settlers of Passaic Valley and Vicinity" Pg 207, by John Littell, 1852)

NOTES:
Sarah Lamb born in 1789, daughter of Joseph Lamb and Ruth Scudder, married in 1805 in Warren Co., OH to William Davis born in 1781. William and Sarah Davis had no children. They remained with the Shaking Quakers in Ohio.

This couple has been confused with another couple evidently with the same names.

Many researchers have incorrectly listed Sarah's birth as 1716 in NC. That year is earlier than the births of Sarah's parents Joseph Lamb in 1756 and Ruth Scudder in 1764. Joseph and Ruth Lamb resided in OH after their move from NJ in 1801. They were not in NC at any time. Thus, their daughter, Sarah, was not born in NC.

Other researchers correctly list Sarah's birth date but erroneously list a death date in NC. In another variation, she is incorrectly shown as born in Wales. Also in another variation, she is shown as married in England.

Sarah's parents resided in Westfield, Union Co., NJ. Nothing indicates that they were in Passaic Co., NJ. They are included in "Family Records or Genealogies of the First Settlers of Passaic Valley and Vicinity" by John Littell, 1852, but that is no indication that they ever resided in Passaic Co.

When Sarah's birth is listed as in 1716, many children have been listed as having been born to William and Sarah Davis. Those births occurred before the births of William Davis born in 1781 and and Sarah Lamb born in 1789.

Sarah Lamb, daughter of Joseph and Ruth (Scudder) Lamb, married William Davis. Apparently information pertaining to a different William and Sarah Davis has been incorrectly listed because the names match. That is the only similarity. The other couple lived in a different state and in different time. That other couple deserves to be correctly reported without any connection to Sarah, daughter of Joseph and Ruth (Scudder) Lamb, who has been well documented.
