Joseph Lamb was Born on Tuesday at 8 a Clock at Night January 28 1800 ("Proceedings of the New Jersey Historical Society", Vol. 66, No. 1, Jan. 1948, Whole No. 252, Pg 42; Bible of Benjamin Scudder) Benjamin Scudder was Joseph's maternal grandfather.

Joseph Lamb, father of Joseph Q. Lamb, was of Westfield, Essex Co., NJ in the 1780's into 1801, when he and his family moved to Warren Co., OH. Joseph Q. Lamb would not have been born in Burlington Co., NJ, as has often been reported,

Joseph Q. Lamb married (1) Hester "Hetty" Davis b 29 Oct. 1805, d 1824-1826 (burial place unknown), daughter of Jonathan Davis and Susannah Bedell. They had three children. He married (2) Margaret J. Lowe, daughter of Abraham D. Lowe and Hettie "Hester" Johnes. They had eight children.

The inscription indicates he died on 21 Mar. 1868 and the "21" is distinctly different that the "24" in his age. This date varies from the death record -
Joseph Q. Lamb d 24 Mar. 1868; married; age 68 years; d Cincinnati; b OH; cause Inflammatory Rheumatism; residence Cincinnati; reported by Chas. N. Southard, Sexton

The missing finial, originally at the top of this marker, was in the form of a dove.
