"Elvena F. Gaskill was born in Aquilla, Hill County, Texas on July 22, 1924. She passed from this life on Sept. 11, 2012, in Willcox, Ariz.
Elvena was the oldest of four children born to Mary and Clyde Ford. She married William "Billy" Gaskill on July 4, 1943, and was his faithful wife for 65 years. Elvena is predeceased by loving husband, William "Billy" Gaskill, her parents Mary and Clyde Ford, one brother JC Ford, and two sisters Tommie Jean Ford and Betty Ann Ford, and a great-granddaughter Angelina Hermosillo. She is survived by four children: Sharon Owen (Don) of Benson, Laura Ramirez (Richard) of Willcox, Martha Makawi of Phoenix and Lloyd Gaskill (Nina) of Willcox, plus 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
She is now in the hands of our Loving Savior and in the company of so many who have gone before her. A visitation was held on Friday, Sept. 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Westlawn Chapel. Funeral Services were Saturday, Sept. 15, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Willcox Church of Christ. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the New Mexico Christian Children's Home, 1356 New Mexico 236, Portales, N.M. 88130."
