"Alanson Post, a pioneer resident of the Bedford section, died at his residence, 138 Decatur Street, Tuesday, of bronchial trouble. He was for many years a trustee and one of the most active members of the Embury M.E. Church. Forty years ago the deceased had a large farm where there are now rows of brownstone houses and prior to twenty five years ago did the largest milk business in New Brooklyn. He was born at Farmingdale, L.I. July 11, 1819. His first wife Martha Van Sise, died 20 years ago. His marriage to Amanda Chichester took place when he had reached the allotted age of man. The deceased is survived by his wife, Amanda Chichester, a son, Wilson E. Post, of Philadelphia, four daughters, Mrs. Richard S. Mott, of Farmingdale, Alice, the wife of Dr. John P. Heyen, of Northport, Mrs. John Thomas and Miss Elizabeth Post. He also leaves seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services this evening will be held at his late residence. Dr. McMaster of Embury Church and Dr. Wesley Bowish of the Sixth Avenue M.E. Church, will officiate. The interment will be at Farmingdale".
