Evelyn Iris Richardson, 71, Bruce, died Saturday, May 29, 2004, at Bruce. She was born on April 24, 1933, at Bruce, the daughter of William and Olive Hemphill. She and Lawrence Richardson were married on Dec. 19, 1952, at Waukegan, Illinois. He died on Nov. 25, 1998.
She had been a Girl Scout Leader in Illinois. She lived in Waukegan, Illinois, for 35 years. She had been a volunteer food distributor in Rusk County and was an avid gardener.
Survivors include a son, Aaron Richardson; daughters, Ronda (John) Popp, Shelby (Ron) Brandt, Joyce (Ron) Wester, Arlene (Dave) Cormican, and Susan (Randy) Peterson; three grandchildren; a brother Arnold (Evelyn) Hemphill of Bruce; and two sisters, Wilma Kelley of Bruce and Shirley (Arnold) Schleusner of Exeland. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, a brother, Glen Hemphill, and a granddaughter, Stephanie Hodges.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2, in the Federated Church of Bruce. Rev. Linda Shearer officiated. Burial was in Bruce Cemetery. Nash-Jackson Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
