Eldred E. Schwanke, age 82, of 2000 Johnston Drive, Manitowoc, died Sunday, July 22, 2012, at his residence.
He was born on July 21, 1930, in Reedsville, son of the late Ervin and Hilma (Horn) Schwanke. He served in the U.S. Army. On September 8, 1951, Eldred married the former Audrey L. Sammer in Manitowoc. He was employed as a welder for many years at the Kohler Company until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife: Audrey Schwanke, Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law: Dennis (Judy) Schwanke, Manitowoc; three daughters and sons-in-law: Denise (Andrew) Dusek, California; Doreen (Mervin) Wilson, California; Donna (Altaf) Hussain, Milwaukee; eight grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law: Ronald (Bernie) Schwanke, Brillion; one sister: Audrey Koch, Brillion; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Boyd (Shirley) Brayant, Fox Lake; Lorena Paskey, Waupon. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons: David Schwanke and Darrell Schwanke; one sister and two brothers-in-law: Jeanette (Hugo) Wolt; William Paskey.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. TODAY, Friday, July 27, 2012, at the Jens Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 1122 South 8th Street, Manitowoc. Rev. Jeremy Vance will officiate. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call today at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
