She was the daughter of William and Elizabeth Davis, old residents of Kentucky. She was married to her husband, who survives her, Sept. 10, 1810. She had born to her thirteen children, five whom survive her; John D. Wright, who lives near Lexington; Mrs. Nancy S. Shaw, who lives in the county; Mrs. Armilda C. Shaw, at whose residence she died; Lucien B. Wright, who lives in Carroll county. For more than 67 years she and her husband fought the battle of life together. In all relations in life she was an exemplary person, and when, in her ripe, old age, her Lord has called her hence, a perfect wife, a loving mother, and a faithful christian, resigned, and waiting patiently for the call, what can her friends say but "Lord, thy will be done."
